Why I don’t go to church – Vector Tha Viper

Nigerian Rapper Vector Tha Viper Discusses Views on Church Attendance
LAGOS, Nigeria — Renowned Nigerian rapper Vector Tha Viper recently shared his thoughts on church attendance, stating that he does not believe in the traditional concept of church as a physical structure.
In an episode of the BTC podcast, Vector expressed his perspective, emphasizing that he views the church as embodying the individual rather than existing solely as a building. He argued that the Bible highlights God’s interest in the human heart, suggesting that spiritual connection transcends physical locations.
“I don’t believe in church as an edifice or a building. I believe in church as a human being,” Vector explained. “The Bible points to the fact that it is your heart that God is interested in.”
He referenced a passage he described as coming from Thomas, asserting that the true essence of the kingdom lies both within and outside individuals. “If you know yourselves, you will become known and realize that you are the sons of the living Father,” he stated. He cautioned that failing to understand oneself may lead to spiritual and existential poverty.
Vector further articulated his beliefs by stating, “If the kingdom is in the church, then the altar is more important than you. The kingdom is a conglomerate of believers, but it is rooted in the individualism of your salvation. You are saved individually by connecting to God.”
While expressing his views on organized religion, Vector clarified that he does not oppose those who attend church or identify with different Christian denominations.
