Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has revealed her reasons for stepping back from attending church services, citing the undue attention she receives.
In a Snapchat video posted Sunday, Akindele explained that she found the focus often turned to her, rather than the spiritual services. “Anytime I go to church, I am always the one they take pictures of. So, I will join online,” she stated.
Akindele also shared that she privately engages with her faith, noting her association with the Celestial Church of Christ. She confirmed her attendance at the church at night, seeking solutions to her challenges, but expressed a desire to be more publicly identifiable with her faith. “I have to stop hiding and publicly identify with the church,” she said.
This revelation comes in the wake of Akindele’s previous statements about her spiritual life, affirming her connection to the Celestial Church.
