Why Who Wants to be a Millionaire suddenly ended — Frank Edoho reveals [VIDEO]

Nigerian TV Host Frank Edoho Explains End of ‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’

Popular Nigerian television host Frank Edoho has stated the reasons behind the cancellation of the long-running quiz show “Who Wants to be a Millionaire.”

During an appearance on the KK Show, Edoho revealed that the show’s primary sponsor, which had supported it for nearly a decade, withdrew its financial backing due to a significant fine imposed by the Federal Government.

He explained that the penalty created a financial strain that hindered the sponsor’s ability to continue funding the program. The sponsor ultimately informed the production team that it could no longer support the show, citing the need to allocate resources toward settling the government’s financial obligation.

“‘Who Wants to be a Millionaire’ sort of came to an end when our sponsor withdrew. They had been with us for a decade, but then the Federal Government fined them due to an industry-related issue. That impacted the sponsorship of the show,” Edoho said. He emphasized that the extraordinary amount required for the fine contributed to the decision to discontinue the broadcast.
