2023: Wike, Makinde, Ortom, Others Meet Tinubu In London

Why Wike, Makinde, Ortom, Other G-5 Govs Are In London – Source Reveals

A source has revealed that the Governor Nyesom Wike-led G5 governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are in London, the United Kingdom, to meet with the embattled former Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekwerenmadu.

This is contrary to speculations that the five aggrieved governors are in UK to choose who to back between the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu.

Naija News reports that Wike and his counterparts: Samuel Ortom (Benue), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) have foreclosed supporting the presidential candidate of their party.

Speaking on Wednesday, a source told Vanguard that the aggrieved governors were fully aware of the anxiety within the polity with regards to who they decide to back.

The source said, “The G-5 are not political neophytes they are experienced administrations and politicians.

“They read what is currently trending on twitter speculating on the reason for their latest trip to London and just had a laugh.

“The trip is mainly to reach out to the Ekwerenmadu’s in their hour of need.

“The Enugu State Governor for one is personally concerned about the wellbeing of the former DSP so are his colleagues.

“On the issue of the stand of the governors on their preferred candidate for the 2023 Presidential election, the word is just like our leader, Governor Wike has said ‘wait.’

“Nigerians should give a little time consultations are ongoing the governors are on the same page, they will soon speak with one voice.”
