FCT Minister Inspects Infrastructure Projects Ahead of Presidential Anniversary

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reported significant progress on several infrastructure projects slated for inauguration in celebration of President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary.

Wike made the announcement following an inspection of various ongoing projects within the FCT on Monday. His visit included key sites such as the access road to Karsana Renewed Hope Estate, the access route to the Body of Benchers area, and the Tungan Madaki to Zuba road axis.

The minister emphasized that this inspection serves as a final effort to ensure the infrastructure commitments outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda are completed ahead of the anniversary. He noted that with asphalt being laid and streetlights installed, the FCT Administration is poised to present a transformed urban landscape to the president.

Describing the FCT as a “construction hub,” Wike highlighted the swift progress made by various contractors, indicating that many projects are nearing completion. He reported that the Karsana Renewed Hope Estate access road is almost finished, with only about 500 meters of asphalt remaining, and the contractor has committed to installing streetlights by the end of the month.

Wike also expressed satisfaction with the completed access road to the Body of Benchers area, noting that streetlight installation is expected to be completed within ten days. Additionally, he praised the ongoing work on the access road from Bill Clinton Drive to Tungan Madaki, particularly the completed bridge, and confirmed that work on an additional stretch toward Zuba has commenced as directed.

The minister credited the success of these projects to the selection of high-quality contractors and the commitment of technical teams overseeing the work. “We are pleased with what we have seen – quality jobs completed by reputable contractors,” Wike stated.

He reiterated that these projects will be among those inaugurated by President Tinubu during his anniversary celebrations.
