Five Teams Advance to FIFA World Cup Round of 16
At least five countries have secured their spots in the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup following recent matches.
On Tuesday, Norway earned a place in the knockout stage with a 2-1 victory over the Ivory Coast. Goals from Antonio Nusa and Erling Haaland propelled Norway to the win, though a late goal from Amad Diallo for the Ivory Coast was insufficient to change the outcome.
With this victory, Norway joined Canada, Morocco, Paraguay, and Brazil in the Round of 16.
The knockout stage will commence on Saturday, when Canada faces Morocco.
Additional Round of 32 matches are scheduled for later today and tomorrow as teams continue to vie for advancement.
