Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has set a new record for his nation in the FIFA World Cup, becoming its all-time leading goalscorer. The 41-year-old achieved this milestone during a 5-0 victory over Uzbekistan on Tuesday, where he scored two goals.
With this performance, Ronaldo’s career total in World Cup matches now stands at 10 goals after 24 appearances. He surpasses the previous record held by Eusébio, who scored nine goals during his World Cup career.
