Former France international Thierry Henry has expressed admiration for the Cape Verde national football team after their recent match in the World Cup Round of 32 against Argentina.

Speaking to Fox Sports following the match, Henry noted that both he and his co-pundit, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, were captivated by Cape Verde’s performance. The Blue Sharks narrowly lost to Argentina, the reigning World Cup champions, with a final score of 3-2 after an intense 120 minutes at Miami Stadium.

Despite the loss, Henry commended Cape Verde’s spirited display, describing it as “magical.” He emphasized the team’s tenacity and determination, stating, “The story is, was and always will be Cabo Verde. What I witnessed today is just like — when you believe that you can, that’s what can happen.”

He acknowledged the disappointment of the outcome but reaffirmed that the team’s effort had won the hearts of many. “Yes, I know they ended up losing the game. But they won our hearts. I have to say that it’s just magical. Wow,” Henry remarked.
