World Cup: They’ve an array of talent – Benitez names 4 favourites to win trophy

Former Real Madrid Manager Lists World Cup Favorites

Rafa Benitez, the former manager of Real Madrid, has identified France, Spain, and England as the top contenders for the 2026 World Cup. He also includes Germany among the favorites, citing its historical success in the tournament.

In an interview with La Gazzetta, Benitez emphasized the depth of talent present within these national teams. He noted that France boasts exceptional players such as Ousmane Dembélé, Kylian Mbappé, and others who could not make the final roster, highlighting the team’s strength.

“France possesses an impressive array of talent; they have even had to leave some players at home, which is astonishing,” Benitez said, referencing notable absences like Dembélé and others.

He also praised Spain for its emerging talents, including Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams, complemented by a strong midfield featuring Pedri and Rodri.

Germany, according to Benitez, cannot be overlooked due to its rich history in the World Cup. He also pointed to England’s promising roster, which includes standout players like Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka.

“History counts, and certainly not England with Bellingham or Saka, Gordon or Rice,” he added.

As the tournament approaches, these nations will be keen to demonstrate their capabilities on the world stage.
