Nollywood actresses Wumi Toriola and Seyi Edun have reconciled after a prolonged period of estrangement, marking a new chapter in their friendship.
The reconciliation became public when Edun celebrated Toriola’s birthday on social media, announcing their commitment to “growth, understanding, and a fresh start.” In her Instagram post, Edun referred to their past conflict as a test of time, noting, “They say time and distance can test a friendship, but they can also prove how deep the roots go together. Reconnecting with you has been one of the highlights of my year, and it reminded me of the beautiful bond we have always had.”
Edun expressed gratitude for their renewed friendship, stating, “Our reconnection has shown me just how much our bond matters. I’m so glad we chose growth, understanding, and a fresh start.”
In response, Toriola commented on the post, sharing her feelings with Edun. “Ashabi, I genuinely miss us. Love you so much, dear friend, and thanks for the huge gift. I’m grateful we came back to our senses. Love you,” she wrote.
The rift between the two began in October 2020 when Edun did not acknowledge Toriola’s son, Zion, on social media during his first birthday, nor did she attend the celebration. This absence prompted Toriola to publicly confront Edun, leading to tensions that escalated when Toriola also ignored Edun’s birthday in June 2021.
