Yetunde Barnabas accuses Ajefunke Kofoshi of misleading public over arrest claim

Nollywood actress Yetunde Barnabas has publicly accused fellow actress Ajefunke Kofoshi of distorting the facts surrounding their ongoing dispute, specifically asserting that Kofoshi was arrested rather than simply invited by authorities.

Barnabas’s remarks came in response to a video Kofoshi posted, which depicted the two actresses together and suggested that she had only received a police invitation.

Earlier, Barnabas had indicated that the matter was being addressed through legal channels. She stated that Kofoshi had been urged to remove allegedly defamatory posts regarding Barnabas and her work, as well as to issue a public apology via video.

Later, Barnabas confirmed that they had “finally faced off legally” and announced her intention to move on from the situation for the sake of peace, although she mentioned certain conditions would still apply.

Kofoshi’s depiction of the events led Barnabas to elaborate, asserting that Kofoshi had indeed been arrested and had pleaded for forgiveness. “You were picked up and arrested; you begged and admitted your wrongdoing,” Barnabas stated, adding that she decided to let the matter go out of consideration for harmony.

Barnabas claimed that Kofoshi had requested her to create a video addressing the dispute and that she had agreed, while advising Kofoshi against making disparaging remarks about others. “Do not mislead the public,” Barnabas emphasized in her response.
