Yobe State Governor Commits to Partnership for Cement Production Facility

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to establishing a strategic partnership with Mutual Commitment Company Ltd. of China to develop a limestone-to-cement industrial complex. The facility is projected to produce three million tonnes of cement annually and aims to drive economic transformation in the state.

The governor’s pledge was detailed in a statement released Sunday by his media aide after a visit from Mr. Liu Long, Group Managing Director of Mutual Commitment Company, who led a management team to Yobe State.

This partnership is seen as a significant development in the state’s industrialization agenda, aimed at fostering economic growth, creating jobs, and promoting sustainable development.

The initiative will be executed by the Yobe Mining Development Company Limited (YMDCL) and is designed to enhance local value addition, support infrastructure improvement, attract further investment, and position Yobe State as an emerging hub for cement production in Nigeria.

Mr. Liu Long expressed appreciation for the supportive governance environment in Yobe State, which he indicated would facilitate successful collaboration between the company and the state in pursuing shared developmental goals.
