Veteran Marketer Responds to Actors’ Allegations

Akeem Olatunji Balogun, known in the film industry as Olasco Films, has publicly labeled actors Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel as ingrates following allegations made against him in a recent interview.

The controversy began when Okunnu publicly accused Olasco of withholding earnings from a film produced 16 years ago. In his statements, Okunnu expressed resentment, saying, “I haven’t forgiven Olasco.”

This accusation was compounded by Austin Emmanuel’s claims that Olasco Films and its associate, Toymax Films, had blacklisted him within the industry. Emmanuel also alleged inappropriate behavior involving Toymax and his former girlfriend, Aisha Raji.

In response, Olasco defended his actions during an interview with actor Tunde Ola-Yusuf. He stated that he provided Okunnu with 2 million Naira to produce the film, emphasizing that production costs at the time ranged between 700,000 and 1 million Naira.

“Okunnu is like a blind man using a walking stick, and when he regained his sight, he threw away the walking stick that was guiding him,” Olasco remarked. “He claims to have worked for me without pay, yet he received 2 million Naira for the movie production. As for Austin Emmanuel, he seeks attention through my name; I supported him in promoting the film that brought him fame.”

The actors have not yet responded to Olasco’s statements.
