Your speech technologically rich but legally bankrupt – AA slams INEC’s Chair, Amupitan

Action Alliance Chairman Critiques INEC’s Recent Address
Kenneth Udeze, the National Chairman of the Action Alliance (AA), criticized Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan on Wednesday, following a press conference held to mark his 100 days in office.
In a statement titled “Action Alliance reaction to Prof. Amupitan 100 days address, a speech without law,” Udeze contended that while Amupitan’s remarks were impressive in their use of technology, they lacked legal substance.
Udeze remarked that Amupitan’s assertion of training judges in pre-election and post-election matters is undermined by the commission’s failure to comply with judicial rulings. “You cannot claim to train judges for pre-election and post-election matters while you disobey their judgments,” Udeze stated.
He expressed concerns regarding the implications of Amupitan’s address, stating, “You can buy 57,000 new BVAS and mobilize 100,000 vehicles and 4,000 boats, but if you cannot obey one Court of Appeal judgment, you cannot deliver one credible election.”
Udeze further characterized Amupitan’s speech as “a countdown without credibility and preparation without neutrality,” underscoring that elections encompass more than logistics, emphasizing the importance of law, justice, and impartiality. “On all three, Amupitan and INEC have failed,” he concluded.
