Youths in Delta State Community Recover Abandoned Firearm

Youths in the Idjerhe community of Delta State have successfully retrieved an abandoned locally made firearm. The recovery was announced by Desmond Emoefe Agbigbe, president of the Idjerhe Youth Council, in a statement on the group’s Facebook page.

The statement, which was signed by Kingsley Ikewun, the council’s secretary, indicated that the firearm was found as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security within the kingdom.

Agbigbe underscored the council’s commitment to fostering peace, security, and the protection of lives and property throughout Idjerhe Kingdom. He urged local youths to reject violence and illegal activities, including the possession of unauthorized firearms.

In his warning, Agbigbe encouraged anyone in possession of illegal weapons to surrender them to the appropriate authorities to promote public safety and peaceful coexistence. Furthermore, he reached out to members of various groups willing to abandon violent behaviors, inviting them to collaborate with the Youth Council to foster peace and development in the region.

He offered individuals engaged in unlawful activities the opportunity to visit the Youth President’s Secretariat for constructive dialogue.

Agbigbe also called on community leaders and local stakeholders to remain dedicated to restoring peace, unity, and the dignity of Idjerhe Kingdom. He emphasized that achieving a safer and more prosperous community necessitates collective vigilance and support.

The Youth President reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling his responsibilities and urged all residents of Idjerhe Kingdom to participate in the ongoing efforts to establish lasting peace and security.
