Youtube pays actors better than cinema – Producer, Sandra Okunzuwa claims

Nollywood actress and producer Sandra Okunzuwa has asserted that filmmakers on YouTube offer higher pay for actors compared to traditional cinema producers.

In a recent appearance on the BTS Reality podcast, Okunzuwa emphasized that the trend of low wages in Nollywood has changed, particularly for YouTube productions. She revealed that some actors can earn as much as 5 million Naira for four-day shooting projects on the platform.

“Nollywood actors are now very expensive. When people say they don’t pay actors well, that may have been true in the past, but now actors on YouTube are compensated significantly. Some charge between 4 million and 5 million Naira for a four-day shoot,” Okunzuwa stated.

She concluded her remarks by reiterating her belief that YouTube provides better financial opportunities for actors than traditional cinema.
