2027: Abbas dismisses rift rumours with Kaduna Gov. Uba Sani

House Speaker Dismisses Rift Rumors with Kaduna Governor

ZARIA, Nigeria — Abbas Tajudeen, Speaker of the House of Representatives, has dismissed growing speculation regarding a rift between himself and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani.

At an event on Sunday, where he helped distribute 60,000 bags of fertilizer to local farmers under the Renewed Hope Fertiliser Distribution 2026 program, Tajudeen characterized his relationship with Sani as cordial and based on mutual trust and a shared commitment to development.

The speaker urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to foster unity and discipline, warning against the dangers of rumor-mongering and actions that could sow division within the party.

“Political differences should never override the party’s collective interest and development,” he stressed.

Reports from the News Agency of Nigeria indicate that speculation about a disagreement between Tajudeen and Sani has amplified political tensions in Zaria, inciting heated discussions among their supporters on social media. The speculation has led to accusations exchanged between loyalists of the two leaders, alongside concerns regarding the party’s cohesion in Zaria, a key political stronghold for Tajudeen ahead of the 2027 elections.

Despite these tensions, the speaker assured party members and the public that he and Sani remain dedicated to collaborating for the advancement of Kaduna State and the strengthening of the APC.

“There has never been a time when the Executive in Kaduna State and members of the National Assembly from the state enjoyed the level of cooperation and understanding we have today,” Tajudeen said. He emphasized the importance of their partnership, stating that it is focused on delivering democratic benefits and promoting inclusive development throughout the state.

He also highlighted the importance of the Speaker’s office, declaring it a benefit not just to Zaria but to all of Kaduna State. He pledged to serve every community with fairness and inclusivity, ensuring that government programs reach all citizens without political bias.

Additionally, Tajudeen called for continued support for President Bola Tinubu, who he believes has shown a strong commitment to Kaduna State through various development projects. He urged residents to maintain their loyalty and cooperation with the administration to further enhance the state’s progress.

As he concluded his remarks, Tajudeen encouraged APC members to engage in politics with maturity, prioritizing the unity and overall progress of the party over personal ambitions. He reaffirmed his focus on implementing programs that would enhance livelihoods, boost agricultural productivity, and accelerate socio-economic development throughout Kaduna State, particularly within his constituency.
