NIGERIA – Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has vowed to improve affordability and security for Nigerians, attributing the rising cost of living to the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a post on his official social media account on Wednesday, Atiku called on registered voters to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in preparation for the upcoming 2027 elections.
The former vice president emphasized that individuals from various demographics are facing significant financial hardship and insecurity. “Parents go to bed worried about what they will feed their children tomorrow. Pensioners are forced to choose between buying medicine and food. Young people work hard, yet their earnings are consumed by transportation, rent, and basic needs,” Atiku stated.
He further noted that many families live in fear due to issues like kidnapping and violence. “Across the country, families are concerned about whether their loved ones will return home safely,” he added.
Atiku urged that the current struggles with hunger and insecurity should not plague future generations. He encouraged eligible voters to collect their PVCs, underscoring the importance of participating in the democratic process. “If you are a registered voter, please go and collect your PVC. Hold on to it. It is your voice, your choice, and your peaceful power to demand change,” he said.
The candidate also criticized the Tinubu administration for making life increasingly unaffordable and pledged to reverse this trend. “Bola made life expensive. I will work to make life affordable again and restore the security every Nigerian deserves,” he asserted.
Atiku concluded by inviting citizens to unite in the pursuit of a Nigeria where every family can enjoy dignity, safety, and hope.
