2027 Presidency: There’ll be no new buildings or road Construction in Nigeria if I’m elected — Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged that if elected in the upcoming presidential election on January 16, 2027, there will be no new construction of buildings or roads in Nigeria until existing infrastructure is repaired.
Obi made this statement during an exclusive interview with Arise Television on Thursday. He emphasized that his administration would prioritize fixing current roads and facilities over new developments.
“We will not build new guest houses or any new structures,” Obi said. “In fact, there will be no new buildings at all. We will focus on repairing what already exists before considering any new projects.”
The candidate’s commitment reflects a focus on addressing infrastructure maintenance as part of his broader agenda for governance.
