Wike Appoints Idris as Senior Special Assistant on Procurement
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appointed Alhaji Onsachi Musa Idris as the Senior Special Assistant on Procurement. This announcement was made in a statement issued on April 24, 2026, by G. Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media.
Idris retired from the civil service on the same day, bringing an end to his tenure in various roles within the FCT administration. Before his retirement, he served as the Director of Procurement at the Federal Capital Territory Administration since July 2021.
The statement characterized Idris as a seasoned public servant with over 30 years of experience in administration, finance, and public sector procurement management. He previously held the position of Director of Common Services (Procurement) beginning in August 2019 and was later reassigned to oversee procurement functions in July 2021.
During his time in these roles, Idris was responsible for managing procurement processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement system.
The new appointment is effective immediately.
