Insecurity has never been this worse in Nigeria – Kingibe

Senator Ireti Kingibe Raises Alarm Over Insecurity and Food Shortages in Nigeria

Abuja — Senator Ireti Kingibe of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) expressed grave concerns about the state of insecurity in Nigeria, stating that food insecurity has reached unprecedented levels. During an interview on Arise Television’s “Prime Time” on Monday, the senator highlighted the worsening conditions faced by citizens.

Kingibe noted that many are struggling with rising taxes and deteriorating living conditions. “Electricity, insecurity, in fact, everything has never been this bad,” she said. “Food insecurity is at its worst ever, and we are seeing untenable increases in taxes, with more likely on the way.”

She further emphasized the everyday challenges people encounter, including communication difficulties. “You often have to dial someone multiple times before managing to connect for a conversation,” Kingibe remarked, reflecting on the communication breakdown in the country.

The senator also expressed optimism about the emergence of opposition alliances focused on national interests rather than personal agendas. “At the end of the day, everyone wants a better life,” she said, underscoring a collective exhaustion among the populace due to the ongoing crises.

Kingibe’s comments underscore a growing concern among citizens regarding the multifaceted challenges facing Nigeria today.
