Money laundering investigation: EFCC made me cry every morning – Pastor Jerry Eze

Pastor Jerry Eze Clears Name Following EFCC Investigation
Abuja — Jerry Eze, lead pastor of Streams of Joy International and convener of the New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD), has addressed the recent investigation into his financial activities by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukayode, revealed that the commission conducted a six-month investigation into Eze for allegations of money laundering. However, Olukayode confirmed that no evidence of wrongdoing was found, allowing Eze to resume his activities without further repercussions.
In a statement made in Abuja on Wednesday, Eze shared his emotional response to the investigation, recalling how he often cried while driving to his daily NSPPD sessions.
“While the EFCC Chairman was announcing the findings, he seemed unaware of the pressure I was under,” Eze remarked. He also mentioned conversations he had with fellow pastors, expressing his bewilderment over the situation: “I kept asking, ‘What did I do? I have not done anything, why are these people after me?’”
Eze reflected on the impact of the investigation on his mental state and noted that he prayed for Olukayode during this challenging time.
“The interesting thing is that when he came and said they had looked through my books and found nothing wrong, I am grateful to God,” Eze added.
The investigation’s conclusion marks a significant relief for the pastor, who continues to lead his congregation amid persistent allegations.
