Prince Tonnie Oganah, Director of Media for the Anioma State creation campaign, shared insights regarding the future of Anioma State and the reelection of Senator Ned Nwoko. Oganah expressed optimism about the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its commitment to establishing Anioma State.

In an interview, Oganah addressed concerns surrounding the sincerity of the APC’s intentions. “The past and current APC chairmen have affirmed the party’s commitment publicly,” he said. He emphasized that Senate President Godswill Akpabio also supports the initiative, noting that the creation of Anioma State would enhance unity and equity within Nigeria’s federal structure.

Oganah asserted that Anioma is unique among Igbo state requests, as it brings value to the Southeast without causing friction with South-South communities. He highlighted the APC’s majority in federal and state legislative bodies as a positive indicator for forthcoming support for the state’s creation.

He also discussed the endorsement of both the state creation and Nwoko’s reelection by IZU ANIOMA, the umbrella organization representing Anioma people. According to Oganah, this endorsement reflects a collective desire to fulfill the aspirations of their ancestors and achieve prosperity for the community.

“Ned Nwoko stands out among other candidates due to his vision for empowerment and outstanding legislative achievements,” Oganah stated. He highlighted Nwoko’s initiatives, including healthcare efforts, financial assistance for widows and the unemployed, and bills advocating for diverse social reforms.

Oganah underscored Nwoko’s accomplishments, arguing that they distinguish him in a competitive political landscape. “His track record speaks for itself,” he added, urging support for Nwoko’s vision to foster prosperity through the establishment of Anioma State.

He concluded by remarking on past divisions within Anioma regarding identity and governance. Oganah believes that by focusing on unity and development, the community can advance and reclaim its historical significance.

The establishment of Anioma State continues to garner attention as supporters advocate for its potential impact on local and regional well-being.
