Police arrest suspect over abduction of three siblings in Adamawa

A man has been arrested in Adamawa State in connection with the alleged abduction of three siblings from the same family.
The Adamawa State Police Command identified the suspect as 23-year-old Adamu Yahaya, a resident of the Hosere area in Jambutu, Yola North Local Government Area.
According to State Police Public Relations Officer SP Suleiman Nguroje, the arrest follows a report made on June 16, 2026, by Samaila Musa, a resident of Hullere Gwalamba in Yola North. Musa reported that his three sons were abducted on June 12, 2026, and taken to an unknown location.
Musa identified the victims as Adamu Samaila Sultan, 24; Bilal Abdurrahman, 8; and Yau Sani Baba Iyali, 10. The family received communication from the abductors, who demanded a ransom for the children’s release.
In response to the report, Police Commissioner Kabir Hassan ordered a thorough investigation and the deployment of intelligence and technical resources. Nguroje stated that the investigation led to the swift arrest of Yahaya, who is currently cooperating with authorities to provide information that may help apprehend additional members of the kidnapping syndicate.
