Video: Akpabio teases Oshiomhole over viral ‘private jet leg massage’ video

Senate President Mocks Oshiomhole Over Controversial Video

ABUJA — Senate President Godswill Akpabio lightened the mood during Thursday’s plenary session by jokingly addressing Senator Adams Oshiomhole regarding a viral video. The footage, which appeared to show Oshiomhole aboard a private jet with a woman, was initially dismissed by lawmakers as a potential artificial intelligence (AI) fabrication.

Akpabio’s comments came while he was discussing various petitions before the Senate, eliciting laughter from his colleagues. “I would have asked a question when there was a picture showing one of our senators in a plane, massaging the leg of a girl,” he remarked.

Turning to Oshiomhole, Akpabio recounted a conversation with Senator Simon Lalong, who advised him not to take the video seriously. “Senator Oshiomhole, your very good friend Senator Lalong came to give me security information. He said that we just ignored the message because we thought it was AI,” Akpabio said.

He indicated that the Senate could take the matter seriously if credible evidence emerged. “But if you have another evidence, we have a petition before us; we can look into it if it’s not AI,” he added.

The video in question, which circulated widely on social media in February 2026, shows a man resembling Oshiomhole seated in a private jet, with a woman resting her legs in his lap. The authenticity of the footage has sparked considerable debate among Nigerians.

Following the video’s release, Oshiomhole’s media aide, Oseni Momodu, denied its authenticity, claiming it was fabricated and allegedly created to damage his reputation. Oshiomhole’s team condemned the video’s dissemination, emphasizing the importance of verifying online content before sharing and assuring that they were working to identify those responsible for its creation and distribution.
