Former Sweden striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has expressed his support for Lionel Messi following Argentina’s recent loss to Spain in the World Cup final. The match, held on Sunday, ended in a 1-0 defeat for Messi and his team.
Ibrahimovic, who played alongside Messi during their time at Barcelona, encouraged the Argentine captain to remain active in international football.
“I hope he can continue to play as much as possible, so we can enjoy him even more,” Ibrahimovic said during an interview with Fox Sports.
When asked about the possibility of Messi participating in another World Cup, Ibrahimovic noted, “I don’t know, you never know. But we have enjoyed him, and we are happy that he plays the game because we are going to be very sad when he stops playing.”
