Monday sit-at-home cancellation: ‘Butchers realized they laboured in vain’ – Joe Igbokwe

Chieftain Comments on IPOB’s Sit-at-Home Order Cancellation
Joe Igbokwe, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed his views on the recent decision by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to cancel its Monday sit-at-home order in the South-East region.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, Igbokwe stated that local butchers have come to the realization that their efforts have been in vain and that IPOB has acknowledged the untenable situation they face in the region. His post, titled “No Place to Hide Anymore in Igboland,” suggested that the cancellation represents a significant defeat for IPOB.
Igbokwe characterized the group’s leadership as ineffective, referring to them with derogatory terms and asserting that their influence has been diminished. He called for action to address the “mess” left by IPOB, emphasizing the need to restore order in the South-East.
He posed several rhetorical questions about how to resolve the issues caused by IPOB and prevent similar occurrences in the future. Igbokwe also reflected on the historical impact of civil conflicts, drawing parallels between past and present tensions within the Igbo community.
He concluded his remarks with an acknowledgment of the ongoing conflicts and expressed hope for a resolution.
