Martins Vincent Otse, known online as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has outlined specific conditions before responding to a police invitation related to allegations against Assistant Inspector-General of Police Moshood Jimoh.

In a statement issued through his attorney, Deji Adeyanju, Otse expressed his readiness to cooperate with the investigation, emphasizing the need for transparency throughout the process. He aims to ensure public trust in the unfolding investigation.

The legal communication follows a statement from the Nigeria Police Force on August 4, which confirmed that VeryDarkMan had been invited by the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Abuja to clarify allegations made against the senior officer.

Otse’s legal team welcomed the police’s decision to investigate and asserted that he has consistently supported lawful inquiries. “Our client appreciates the decision of the Nigeria Police Force to commence an official investigation into the concerns he raised and reiterates his willingness to cooperate,” the statement read. “For the avoidance of doubt, our client has never opposed any lawful investigation.”

However, the legal representatives underscored the importance of transparency and fairness, given the high-profile nature of the case and the seniority of the officer implicated. They requested that individuals from the Nigerian Bar Association, civil society organizations, and other independent observers be permitted to monitor the interrogation process as part of the conditions for his cooperation.
