Shinkafi vows to proceed with campaign despite court case over Zamfara primary

Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a candidate for the Zamfara North senatorial seat, has affirmed his commitment to continue his campaign despite an ongoing court challenge regarding the primary election results.

During a press conference on Monday in Gusau, Shinkafi announced plans to assemble his campaign and mobilization teams in accordance with the official campaign timeline. He expressed confidence that the legal proceedings would not hinder his efforts and that he believes he will ultimately prevail in court.

“No one can intimidate me. I have every right to campaign for the APC and for my candidacy. I am confident that, based on the evidence we have presented before the court, we will win the case,” Shinkafi stated.

In addition to discussing his campaign, Shinkafi urged the Zamfara State Government to focus on enhancing security, investing in human capital development, and improving the welfare of its residents. He emphasized that increased security in Zamfara would benefit neighboring states, including Sokoto, Katsina, Kaduna, Kebbi, and Niger.

He also advised Governor Dauda Lawal to consider reallocating funds intended for new projects to address issues of insecurity and to enhance the living conditions of the state’s residents. Shinkafi highlighted that prioritizing security is essential, given its significant impact on both the local community and surrounding areas.
