Transfer: Ex-Arsenal star, Koscielny reacts as Nigerian Nosa joins Ligue 1 side

FC Lorient has announced the signing of Nosa Obaretin, a 23-year-old centre-back with Italian roots and Nigerian heritage. Obaretin joins the Ligue 1 club on a season-long loan from Napoli, which includes an option for a permanent transfer.
Obaretin began his career at AC Milan before moving to Napoli, where he advanced through the youth ranks and ultimately made his senior debut. He was born in Forlì, Italy, and has spent the last two seasons on loan with Bari and Empoli, totaling 56 appearances across all competitions.
Laurent Koscielny, sporting director at Lorient and a former Arsenal captain, emphasized that the club provides an excellent environment for the player’s development. “Nosa has outstanding qualities in duels, game reading, and ball usage. He still has considerable potential for growth, and we are confident that FC Lorient will provide the environment necessary for him to progress further,” Koscielny said on the club’s official website.
“We are thrilled to welcome him and eagerly anticipate his contributions in our colors,” he added.
Obaretin will wear the number 55 jersey for the upcoming season at Lorient.
