Saudi: ‘I’ll expose this league if I speak’ – Joào Felix furious after Al-Nassr’s defeat to Al-Ittihad
Al-Nassr midfielder Joao Felix has hinted at potentially revealing concerns about the Saudi Pro League following his team’s 2-1 defeat to Al-Ittihad on Saturday.
In the aftermath of the match, Felix conveyed his frustration, stating that he might “expose” issues within the league. The Knights of Najd saw their perfect start to the season come to an abrupt end with this loss.
Nigerian forward George Ilenikhena opened the scoring for Al-Ittihad with two quick goals in the first half. Although Al-Nassr’s Angelo Gabriel reduced the deficit in the 36th minute, the team was unable to find the net again during the second half, resulting in their first loss of the season.
Felix received his fourth yellow card of the season for a foul on Richard Rios in the 69th minute. Following the match, he appeared visibly frustrated with the officiating by Khaled Al-Turais and questioned the referee as the match concluded.
When approached by reporters after the game, Felix declined to answer questions and conveyed a warning, stating, “I won’t speak to you, because if I do, I’ll expose this league,” according to journalist Ratiban Al-Dossari.
As a result of his fourth booking, Felix is expected to serve a one-match suspension, which will leave Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr without one of its key attackers in their upcoming match against Abha.
