Liverpool Football Club Signs Major Sponsorship Deal with Turkish Airlines

Liverpool Football Club has announced a significant partnership with Turkish Airlines, which will become the club’s primary shirt sponsor starting June 1, 2027. This agreement marks the end of a 17-year sponsorship with Standard Chartered, which has held the position since 2010.
The reported value of the deal exceeds £300 million (approximately $405.78 million), positioning it as one of the most lucrative sponsorship arrangements in the Premier League. While the exact figures have yet to be publicly confirmed, industry sources suggest it may rival Manchester United’s recent sponsorship deal with Qualcomm, signed in August 2024.
Standard Chartered will continue its association with Liverpool as a Global Partner, but Turkish Airlines will take precedence in the club’s branding efforts. “The front of the Liverpool shirt holds a special place in the history of our club,” said Ben Latty, Liverpool’s chief commercial officer. “Turkish Airlines is a globally recognized organization with an extensive international network, and we look forward to building a strong partnership together, with already strong foundations built from those special memories back in 2005,” he added, referencing Liverpool’s memorable Champions League final victory in Istanbul.
Turkish Airlines is expanding its presence in football, having secured a sponsorship portfolio that includes being an official partner of the UEFA Champions League and the main sponsor of the Turkish national football team.
In February, Liverpool reported record revenues exceeding £700 million ($950 million) for the past financial year, ranking as the highest-placed Premier League club in the Deloitte Football Money League. Historically, Liverpool was the first major English football club to feature a shirt sponsor, beginning with Japanese electronics company Hitachi in 1979.
