FG moves academic certificate verification online

Federal Government Streamlines Academic Certificate Verification Process
The Federal Government has transitioned the evaluation and authentication of academic certificates to an online platform, eliminating the need for applicants to visit the Federal Ministry of Education in person.
This development was announced in a statement from the ministry on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and was signed by Boriowo Folasade, the Director of Press and Public Relations.
According to Minister of Education Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, applicants can now complete the necessary processes for certificate evaluation and authentication through a dedicated online portal established by the ministry.
Alausa noted, “This initiative represents a significant advancement in the Federal Government’s digital transformation agenda and is in alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.”
The ministry indicated that the new online system aims to reduce delays in application processing and improve accessibility for Nigerians, including those located abroad.
In addition, the ministry stated that the online platform will enable institutions, employers, and other relevant bodies to verify academic qualifications through a more organized and efficient procedure.
