‘If Nollywood were strictly about talent, I should be far beyond where I am’ — Actor Tayo Faniran
Nollywood actor Tayo Faniran has shared insights into his experiences in the Nigerian film industry, suggesting that success is not solely reliant on talent. In an interview with TVC’s eSplash, Faniran emphasized that many of the industry’s most recognized producers may not be the most skilled.
“Public perception often does not align with what truly exists within the industry,” Faniran remarked. He noted that the most prominent names in Nollywood might not possess the level of talent widely assumed.
The actor expressed disappointment regarding the opportunities in the industry, stating that he believes his career could have reached greater heights if success were based purely on merit. “If Nollywood were strictly about talent, I should be far beyond where I am. There is a lot of rigging in the industry,” he said.
