Zamfara: Resign if you’re dissatisfied with my administration — Lawal tells appointees
ZAMFARA, Nigeria — Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has issued an ultimatum to political appointees expressing dissatisfaction with his administration, advising them to resign from their positions if they are unhappy.
Lawal’s comments came during an All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday at the Government House in Gusau. The meeting addressed concerns raised by party members, including political appointees, youths, and women, regarding perceived neglect and insufficient welfare.
“There are some political office holders who complain that they have not gotten anything. That is not true. Even among the commissioners, anyone who feels he is not getting anything should resign,” Lawal stated.
The governor also called for an end to factionalism within the APC in the state, urging members to unite. “From today, please, let us stop the politics of so-and-so’s houses. Let us come together as one party with the same vision. The talk of Dauda’s house, Matawalle’s house, or Shehi’s house should stop,” he said.
In preparation for the 2027 elections, Lawal announced plans to meet with former governors of the state to finalize and compile the membership list for the APC campaign council.
