Nigerian social media commentator VeryDarkMan has accused Lagos-based auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, known as IVD, of introducing Blessing CEO to drugs. VeryDarkMan made the allegations in a video posted on his Instagram account on Tuesday, during which he announced his intent to assist in securing Blessing CEO’s release from prison.
According to DAILY POST, Blessing CEO, a self-proclaimed relationship expert, was earlier this year remanded in custody as part of a trial related to a N69.15 million property fraud case. Additionally, she faces accusations of scamming the public out of N36 million by falsely claiming to have stage 4 cancer.
In July 2023, she was granted bail—amounting to N10 million for the fraud case concerning the cancer claims and N20 million for the property fraud charges. However, her release has been complicated, leading to concerns from several individuals, including actress Doris Ogala, who questioned why officials had not finalized her release despite her meeting the bail conditions.
In light of Blessing CEO’s recent personal tragedy—her second son reportedly passed away from an asthma attack—Doris brought attention to the delays in her release on social media. Following this, VeryDarkMan shared his allegations in a now-viral video, revealing that he had uncovered information suggesting that IVD introduced Blessing CEO to drug use.
VeryDarkMan claimed that both Blessing CEO and IVD struggled with addiction, stating that their drug dependency led to major life changes, including the sale of personal property to fund their habits. He suggested that Blessing CEO resorted to scamming individuals, including claims related to cancer, to maintain her drug use.
“I’ve consulted with many friends, and while some advised against helping her, I now feel compelled to assist,” VeryDarkMan said. “I believe it was the drugs that influenced her actions, leading her to sell her properties and ultimately scam the public.”
He cautioned against sending her money upon her potential release, asserting that she may need at least six months in a rehabilitation program rather than financial support.
As of now, IVD has not publicly responded to the allegations made by VeryDarkMan.
