Makinde-Daura organisation inaugurates presidential campaign committee

Makinde-Daura Campaign Committee Inaugurated, Focuses on Voter Mobilization Ahead of 2027 Elections

The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) has officially launched its National Campaign Management Committee (NCMC), aiming to mobilize support from Nigeria’s 103 million registered voters. The inauguration took place on Tuesday in Abuja.

Alhaji Lawal Daura, the vice-presidential candidate for the Allied People’s Movement (APM), underscored the urgent need for grassroots engagement, noting the critical nature of the elections, which are just 100 days away. He described the upcoming polls as an opportunity for a “national reset” to address the country’s myriad challenges.

“Resetting is the only solution that can get Nigeria right,” Daura stated, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive assessment and potential overhaul of the existing configuration within the nation.

During his address, Daura highlighted the historic figures in voter registration and warned opponents against any attempt to undermine the electoral process. He assured supporters that the committee is prepared to safeguard the votes in accordance with the Electoral Act. “For those who really want to rig, they will have a surprise coming,” he warned.

Daura also detailed the committee’s recruitment strategy, indicating that members were chosen based on their proven track records of success. “We want boldness, focus, and a resolve to succeed,” he affirmed, expressing confidence in the team’s capabilities.

Yusuf Dantalle, the APM National Chairman, called on committee members to unite in their efforts to secure victory for the Makinde-Daura ticket in 2027. He highlighted the challenges ahead but insisted that unity and cooperation would be crucial for governance. “It is not an easy task, but that does not make it impossible,” he stated.

Dantalle encouraged members to draw on their diverse backgrounds and experiences, from local government to national elections, to ensure the party’s success. He acknowledged that internal disagreements are likely but emphasized the importance of effective conflict resolution as a demonstration of the coalition’s readiness to govern.

“This inauguration is just a stepping stone and must translate into coordinated field operations,” he cautioned, urging collaboration with established party structures to maximize electoral outcomes.

Mr. Felix Hyat, the committee’s Director-General, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the team and assured the party’s leadership of their commitment to achieving victory. “I have worked with nearly all of them, and they are individuals you can trust for a good result,” he stated.

Hyat turned his attention to the APM’s presidential candidate, praising his expertise in security and governance in Oyo State. He also urged northern youth to avoid supporting perennial candidates, emphasizing the need for regional power rotation.

In closing, he called for citizens to reject politics based on sentiment, urging the youth to take an active role in shaping their future by voting for capable candidates in the 2027 general elections.
