Military plane crash: IGP DISU visits Chief of Air Staff over death of 25 personnel
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, visited the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal S.K. Aneke, on Friday to express condolences following the tragic crash of NAF 931, which claimed the lives of 25 individuals.
During the visit, Disu conveyed the condolences of the Nigeria Police Force to the leadership, officers, and personnel of the Nigerian Air Force, as well as to the families affected by the incident. He emphasized the Force’s solidarity with the Air Force during this difficult time and extended prayers for strength and comfort to the bereaved families and colleagues of the deceased.
The Inspector-General recognized the service and sacrifice of those who lost their lives in the crash.
The unfortunate incident occurred on October 5, 2026, in Igbokoda, Ondo State, as reported by DAILY POST. In response, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared three days of national mourning to honor the deceased personnel.
The Nigerian Air Force has since initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
