Okey Bakassi refutes rumour of separation from wife

Okey Bakassi, a popular comedian, addressed online reports regarding his marriage in a video posted Monday on his Instagram page. The rumors suggested that Bakassi’s wife had filed for divorce after relocating to the United States with their children 15 years ago to pursue a nursing degree while he remained in Nigeria for work.

In his response, Bakassi firmly denied the allegations. “Please, my wife and I are still together. God forbid anything will ever happen to us,” he stated. He criticized the source of the rumors as an individual who sought to undermine his family, referring to them as “one idiot” who fabricated an article using images of him and his wife.

Bakassi went on to express concern over the impact of the rumors, noting that friends, family, and fans from around the world had reached out to him and his wife in response to the troubling news. He highlighted that the couple recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Canada, emphasizing their enduring commitment to each other.
