Gehgeh accuses VDM of threatening Davido over Burna Boy feud
Social media influencer Gehgeh has accused fellow activist VeryDarkMan of viewing musician Davido as an adversary due to his friendship with Burna Boy. This accusation follows VeryDarkMan’s recent threats to confront Davido should he comment again on Nigerian politics.
Gehgeh made these statements in a video, urging VeryDarkMan to cease his criticism of Davido regarding the singer’s political affiliations. He emphasized that Davido, like any Nigerian citizen, holds the right to endorse a political candidate of his choice.
“VeryDarkMan’s relationship with Burna Boy is making him see Davido as his enemy,” Gehgeh stated.
He drew a parallel to a past incident involving streamer Carter Efe, who reportedly targeted VeryDarkMan after developing a close relationship with Davido. Gehgeh suggested that VeryDarkMan’s affiliations with Burna Boy have clouded his judgment, causing him to view Davido’s political allies as enemies.
Gehgeh condemned VeryDarkMan’s warning to Davido, asserting, “That statement is wrong in all ramifications. You’re not more Nigerian than Davido.” He underscored that many Nigerians choose to support family members or friends in political endeavors and argued that Davido’s choice to back a candidate is valid.
“If my elder brother is competing for any political party, should I leave my brother and support someone I don’t know?” Gehgeh questioned.
He concluded by advising VeryDarkMan to reconsider his stance, cautioning that he may later regret disregarding this counsel.
