‘We want to abandon this life’ – Dreaded Rivers armed group begs OPM pastor [VIDEO]

Ekpeye Freedom Fighters Surrender, Seek Help from Port Harcourt Pastor

Rivers State—Members of the notorious armed group known as the Ekpeye Freedom Fighters have surrendered and are seeking assistance from Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, the founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), to help them reintegrate into society. The request was made public in a viral video in which individuals from the group were seen raising their arms in a plea for aid.

In the video, the fighters expressed their exhaustion with life in the bush, marked by conflict and constant hiding. They indicated a desire to pursue a path of amnesty and rehabilitation. One group leader explicitly stated their reliance on Apostle Chibuzor for support, citing his history of aiding former cult members, militants, and ex-prisoners.

“We are calling on Apostle Chibuzor of OPM to help us. We want to leave this life. We want to go back to normal life. We are tired,” the leader said.

The Ekpeye Freedom Fighters have previously faced accusations related to kidnappings, oil bunkering, and violent clashes within the Ahoada East and Ahoada West local government areas of Rivers State.

The announcement of their surrender has been met with celebration in Ekpeye communities, where many residents are lauding Apostle Chibuzor. They are also urging the Rivers State Government and local security agencies to support a rehabilitation process for the former combatants.

As of this report, Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere has not publicly responded to the group’s appeal for assistance.
