NAHCON warns public against fake social media accounts

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has issued a warning regarding unauthorized social media accounts that are improperly using its name, logo, and institutional identity to disseminate unverified information.
In a public disclaimer signed by Shafii Sani Mohammed, the Commission’s Head of Information and Publications, NAHCON emphasized that it does not own or endorse any social media accounts outside of its official platforms.
The Commission urged the public to rely solely on its official website and verified social media accounts for information. These accounts include Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram, all under the handle @NigeriaHajjCom, as well as its YouTube channel.
NAHCON advised the public to report any suspicious accounts and to refrain from sharing unverified information. The Commission also indicated that it may take administrative and legal action against individuals misusing its identity.
