Our X account now restored, we have resumed updates – Nigerian Army
The Nigerian Army announced on Sunday that it has successfully restored access to its official social media account on X, formerly known as Twitter, following a period of technical difficulties. Regular updates concerning the Army’s activities will resume immediately.
Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, stated that the restoration came after efforts to address unauthorized access issues reported on August 29, 2026. The account has since been secured with full administrative control reinstated, allowing for the dissemination of information regarding the Nigerian Army’s operations, achievements, and institutional developments.
“The successful recovery underscores the Nigerian Army’s commitment to safeguarding its digital communication platforms and ensuring the integrity of information,” the statement read.
The Nigerian Army expressed gratitude to the public, the media, and other stakeholders for their understanding and patience during the account’s inaccessibility. The Army urged citizens to reconnect with its official X account, @HQNigerianArmy, for timely and verified information on its activities. It reiterated its dedication to transparent communication and strengthening the relationship between the military and the Nigerian populace.
