Nigerian Comedian Seyi Law Apologizes for Controversial Security Remarks

Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has revised his earlier remarks regarding the nation’s security situation after facing significant backlash. Known for his support of President Bola Tinubu, Seyi Law previously stated that Nigeria is safer now than it was a decade ago, despite ongoing terrorist attacks and kidnappings across the country.

His comments drew criticism from many Nigerians on social media, who accused him of insincerity given his affiliation with the ruling party.

In response to the public outcry, Seyi Law posted an apology video on Instagram, labeling his earlier statement as insensitive. “My fellow Nigerians, I owe you this and more. I’m sincerely sorry for such an insensitive statement I made on the Honest Bunch podcast,” he said. He acknowledged the pain experienced by those affected by violence, expressing remorse for any hurt his comments may have caused.

Seyi Law also urged President Tinubu to prioritize the security of Nigerian citizens.
