Veteran Nollywood Actress Discusses Benefits of Marrying Older Men
Nollywood actress Joke Silva, 64, recently shared insights on the advantages of marrying older men during an appearance on the TVC program “Your View.”
Silva, who has been married to fellow actor Olu Jacob since 1985, highlighted the dynamics of their relationship, noting that Jacob is 20 years her senior. While discussing their love story, she remarked that older men often allow women more freedom in their relationships.

“I met Olu on a movie set, and everyone knew he was coming except me,” Silva said. “He looked so good that it wasn’t until we started dating that I realized he was older.” She added, “For him, it was love at first sight, but for me, it wasn’t. These older men allow you to get away with a lot of things.”
Silva and Jacob, who married when he was 44 and she was 24, have two children together. Their enduring partnership continues to resonate within the Nollywood community.
