Seyi Tinubu, VDM, King Mitchy saga: NCC, NBC should sanction content creators —Akinlosotu

Public Affairs Analyst Urges Regulatory Oversight on Social Media Content
Public affairs analyst and activist Blessing Akinlosotu has called on the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to enhance oversight of social media content creators to prevent potential abuses.
Akinlosotu issued her statement on Tuesday in response to a recent controversy involving Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, social commentator Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, and content creator Mitchel Mukoro, known as King Mitchy.
Recently, VeryDarkMan alleged that Seyi Tinubu and King Mitchy threatened his life following his remarks regarding a N100 million donation. In response, Seyi Tinubu refuted these claims in a detailed statement released over the weekend.
The situation escalated further when reports emerged that King Mitchy had attempted to take her own life. Akinlosotu criticized the conflict, suggesting that VeryDarkMan should not have involved Seyi Tinubu in the matter. She also condemned King Mitchy’s actions, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
“I urge the Nigeria Communications Commission, the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, and other regulatory bodies to take a more serious approach toward the content generated by creators across the nation,” Akinlosotu said. “There must be strong sanctions, and individuals should be held accountable as a means of deterrence.”
