Court remands 35-year-old man for alleged burglary in Ekiti

Ado-Ekiti Magistrate Court Orders Remand of Suspected Burglar
A Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti has ordered the remand of 35-year-old Ahmed Tijani at a correctional facility following allegations of burglary and theft.
During the proceedings, prosecutor Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Yomi Osuolale presented evidence suggesting probable cause for the charges against Tijani. He is accused of offenses committed against several individuals, including Odin Oluwatosin, Obayemi Feranmi, Dada Emmanuel Ibukunoluwa, Babatope Goodness, Odianoween Blessing, and Bayesewa Glory.
The alleged crimes fall under Sections 322(a) and (c) and 302(1)(a) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021. The incidents reportedly took place on February 10, 2026, around 3:30 a.m. in the Oye-Ekiti Magisterial District.
ASP Osuolale informed the court that further investigation is necessary and noted that the case file has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal guidance. He requested that the court approve the remand application.
In his ruling, Magistrate O. F. Bamidele ordered Tijani to remain in custody until the DPP provides legal advice. The case is scheduled for mention on March 25, 2026.
