KANO, Nigeria — Security operatives thwarted an abduction attempt late Wednesday night in Rantan Village, located in the Bebeji Local Government Area of Kano State, rescuing two individuals but resulting in one fatality.

The incident unfolded around 11:30 PM, prompted by a distress call from a local resident, according to security analyst Zagazola Makama. Reports indicate that approximately 15 armed assailants entered the home of Fulani Bakwai, abducting him along with his neighbor, Mohammed Bello.

During the chaos, 25-year-old Musa Mohammed Bello sustained a gunshot wound to the leg while attempting to resist the attackers. Despite swift medical attention at Tiga General Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. His body has since been returned to his family for burial.
