‘I lost my inner voice after I won Big Brother in 2020’ – Laycon

Rapper Laycon Discusses Journey to Self-Discovery and the Importance of Silence

Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, known to fans as Laycon, has shared insights into his personal journey of self-discovery and the significance of finding inner peace. The rapper and reality television star, who gained fame after winning the 2020 Big Brother Naija show, reflected on his experiences during a recent broadcast titled “Life With Laycon.”

In the discussion, Laycon recounted losing touch with his inner voice shortly after his reality show victory, only to rediscover it a year later. He described a profound sense of silence that marked his path to understanding himself better.

“Has the world ever gone silent on you and all you have left was your own thoughts?” Laycon posed in the video. “I have been there and I want to share a part of that experience with you.”

He noted that the first time he rekindled his inner voice was in December 2021, following his sold-out concert, The Icons Fest. The experience prompted a series of introspective questions, including, “Is this really how you want to live?” and “Are you happy?” These inquiries spurred him to confront uncomfortable truths about his life.

Laycon emphasized that many individuals struggle with personal growth due to a fear of loneliness and silence. He characterized silence as a critical component of personal development, likening it to a mirror that reflects one’s thoughts and facilitates essential self-assessment.

He encouraged his fans to embrace solitude and engage in self-reflection as a means of fostering personal accountability and growth.
