Three dead, 11 injured after bandit attack in Katsina village

Bandits Attack Jikamashi, Leaving Three Dead and Eleven Injured
Katsina State police have reported that bandits attacked Jikamashi town in the Musawa Local Government Area on March 10, resulting in three deaths and eleven injuries.
According to police spokesperson DSP Aliyu Abubakar, the assault occurred around 6:05 PM, following a distress call received by Musawa police indicating that armed assailants had invaded the village. Abubakar stated that the attackers had already injured several residents by the time security forces arrived at the scene.
“They injured 14 persons before the arrival of security agencies,” Abubakar said.
Upon receiving the report, a joint security team led by the Divisional Police Officer in Musawa swiftly proceeded to confront the bandits. The team’s engagement with the assailants led to a gun battle, ultimately repelling the attackers.
The injured victims were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. However, medical staff later confirmed that three individuals succumbed to their injuries. The remaining eleven victims are reportedly receiving care and are responding well.
Abubakar noted that the Commissioner of Police for Katsina State, Bello Shehu, condemned the attack on the community. Shehu has initiated a comprehensive investigation to apprehend those responsible for the violence.
